Movement Medicine

What is Movement Medicine?

Movement Medicine is a form of conscious movement and free dance.

It is not about learning steps or being a particularly good dancer. It is about discovering your own body as a gateway to more aliveness, clarity and connection.

When we move, we often step out of constant thinking and find a more direct contact with ourselves. Feelings, inner resources, creativity and new perspectives can become tangible.

Movement Medicine combines free movement with mindfulness, music and simple exercises that help us perceive ourselves more clearly. This creates a space in which everything is welcome: joy and strength as much as uncertainty, grief or the questions life is posing right now.

Many people experience Movement Medicine as a way to meet themselves more kindly, to recognise old patterns and to discover new possibilities for their lives.

You don't need any dance experience. All you need to bring is the willingness to move and curiosity about what you can learn about yourself along the way.

Movement Medicine invites us to meet life with more awareness, compassion and aliveness – step by step, dance by dance.

For me, Movement Medicine is a way of coming home to myself again and again – into my body, into my heart, and into connection with what truly matters to me.

Twelve years ago I discovered Movement Medicine as a powerful, living practice — one in which you don't simply dance freely, but with intention. That still fascinates me today.

In dance I can connect with myself — with my body, my heart, my soul. And beyond that, explore the connection I have with other people and with life as a whole.

This conscious dance lets me experience myself as a unity of body, heart and mind — present in the moment, connected with whatever is alive in me right now.

I have learned to listen to my body and to acknowledge my emotions. In many intensive workshops I was able to work with old stories, so that they no longer shape my actions so strongly. This has given me a new sense of calm, ease and clarity.

Movement Medicine has deeply strengthened my compassion for myself. I owe this in part to the atmosphere of love, respect and appreciation I have experienced in the MM community. Here every person is seen as unique and worthy — this touches and inspires me again and again.

I have also discovered new resources that are always there — for every one of us. My connection to nature and to the elements in particular has deepened through Movement Medicine: it nourishes and strengthens me.

This practice has changed my life — not only within myself, but also in my relationship. It has opened spaces in which new closeness, listening and trust could grow — after many years together.

In my workshops I invite people to meet themselves with new eyes and to feel more at home in their own inner experience. I am convinced that through the magic of music, rhythm and dance — combined with our presence and openness to new experiences — a healing power arises. For ourselves. And for the life that surrounds us.
